British Discount Store Invades Europe

Recommended Posts

I wonder if they ship the crap directly from China to Spain or wether it goes via the UK and then trucked to Spain? I guess they have a distribution center in Spain and have the suppliers truck the good there.

Id expect so, so this is of no benefit to the UK economy whatsoever.

The biggest Chinese wholesale market in Europe is based in Spain

Everywhere you go you can find cheap Chinese bazaars, and prices start from 20 or 30 cents for small items.

However the quality of many products is judged to be poor. I think Dealz (the name Poundland uses outside the UK) are trying to get around this by only selling "brand" products eg Coca-cola, Cadburys chocolate etc.

Lidl car park north Dorset this am.

An 08 Maserati 4000 (£30k) next to a 63 5 Series Estate.

I'm tempted to tell them to all ****** off back to Waitrose. They're spoiling the fun....

But then the motors are all on tick probably.

If you're going to buy a Maserati absolutely no money-saving behaviour would make sense besides getting rid of the Maserati. The official dealer advice is try to avoid reversing uphill as it can terminally wreck the gearbox. Needless to say that advice is only forthcoming when the gearbox has failed. Also closed the door on a GT in a crowded pub car park and the frameless door glass shattered.

I still like them though.
