A controversial comedian whose Christmas album came under fire for lyrics encouraging misogyny and mocking the homeless has been left humiliated after the charity he was raising money for announced they would not accept his donations… and made £3,628 within a day

Shelter said they wouldn't accept money from him ...

So the only conclusion must be that they have too much money?

Or perhaps they don't want money from someone who thinks the homeless smell like shit amongst other hilarious gags? The man sounds like a grade a bellend.

He should have just sung the words of Shelter's web page explaining the causes of homelessness.

Throw in a few shouts of "It's Christmas" and "Give Us The Money" (maybe a few "Giz a Job"s and "Help to Buy"s for good measure as well) and it's sorted.

Dapper Laughs is no comedian. His ITV show is disgusting and check out the recent spats over twitter with UsVsThem.

Edit: http://usvsth3m.com/post/this-is-what-happened-when-i-criticised-dapper-laughs-on-twitter

Just looks like an attention seeking troll/wannabe of which we have too many

IN a world where Sarah Milligan and that other odd looking women the BBC roll out are classed as comedians then this man is a comedy genius in comparison.

Or maybe they have some scruples?

Being from Manchester, I'm not sure you'd understand :P

I've never understood this 'scruples' thing...at least not with charity. Money is money.

If my enemy gave me a million pounds in some moment of insanity, i'd take that million pounds and utilize it against him.

If EA Dave or HTB Osborne gave you a million pounds, haha, by that logic you'd still have to wait to buy until proper HPC to buy a house. (I would like to think I would do just that).

I don't give to Shelter after reading some experience of members here - and some of their policies which have been anti-HPC imo.

Such as shared-ownership promoting, and spokespeople coming out with how difficult it is on tenants when landlords get repo'ed in financial crisis (with a view on being less hard pursuing repos on landlords as I read it).

I tried to persuade one of my solicitor pals to cancel their standing-order donation to Shelter - he rents - and he later found himself in a situation where he wished he had not donated a thing.

No one is asking anyone to support Shelter itself, just to understand why they might want to distance themselves from someone who takes the piss out of their particular cause.

If people can't understand that, well...

Yes; fully accepted.

Was just adding my point separately to their refusal of this donation from this 'comic'. They win on PR anyway by taking this stance, and perhaps bringing in more donations.

It's Sarah Millican and if you think this idiot is funnier than her, then it's not only your spelling that needs serious attention

I don't understand the thread title either.

This bloke is a grade A bellend and he was patently only offering the money as a way to excuse something suitably offensive and stupid.

I don't think many organisations or individuals would accept money from someone who raised it as a result of insulting the people or thing they seek to protect. Only an idiot would to be frank.

There is a petition running on change.org to have his show cancelled

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/dapper-laughs-itv-under-fire-over-dating-show-vloggers-rape-comedy-routine-9852224.html

ITV has severed its links with a sexist internet star who has been described as “the new Jim Davidson”.
It has been...in his words, proper moist..
