TheCountOfNowhere
Sounds like an incentive to me. It does to me too. No point robbing a bank these days, just run the tax payers instead.
goldbug9999
Hate to get in the way of a good story but she will have to pay the money back as well.
GinAndPlatonic
The court heard that Neal was paying back the money and had so far reimbursed the Department of Work and Pensions with £8,000. That sounds like a lifetime of regret...
TheCountOfNowhere
Hate to get in the way of a good story but she will have to pay the money back as well. So, if you rob a bank and get away with it that's fine, if you get caught you agree to pay the money back and get a slap on the wrists ? This is like the MPs expenses scandal, there seems to be something in british culture now that says if you can get away with robbing the tax payer blind then great, if you get caught it's no biggy, just say sorry and pay it back

If you commit a relatively small fraud without hurting anybody, it isn't in the public interest to jail you.

No worse than the banksters printing money and sharing it out amongst themselves. Just rarer than hens teeth. That's all.

Corruption
She has disabled kids otherwise ive no doubt she would have been jailed, though no doubt if it was a male single parent he'd be on suicide watch tonight. I bet half of this will be Housing Benefit.

Guest UK Debt Slave
If you rob a bank violently you will be jailed. If you commit a relatively small fraud without hurting anybody, it isn't in the public interest to jail you. If you commit a humungously large fraud without "hurting anybody", it isn't in the public interest to jail you either.... Or so we are led to believe.......... John51
Wasn't really £90k in total. If they had played it straight they would have still got state benefits, WTC, probably some HB and DLA for the disabled kid.
