£100M Of Grants Available For Green Home Improvements

An extra £100million will be made available for homeowners to get cheap new boilers and double glazing, the Lib Dems announced today.

The extra money will allow more families to apply for grants of around £8,000 to improve their home’s energy efficiency.

Those who have moved home in the past year, meanwhile, are likely to get up to £500 under the ‘Green Deal Home Improvement Fund’ - although the exact details are yet to be agreed.

The big six energy firms have also been ordered to slash the time it takes for people to switch to cheaper rivals, Energy Secretary Ed Davey said today.

More grants to make your house green...

No doubt more money stolen from other energy users to do so, more lumped onto to standing charges.

I am very pro energy saving, massively against the sort of shite the government come up with. Just take tax/VAT off energy saving products and be done with it.

The self-declared apostles of Thatcher still spending like Latin American Marxists? You'd think someone would point out the inconvenient truth.

Thus boosting the prices of these products so those who dont get this free handout will pay above market rates.

Exactly, right across the board from the raw energy to the energy saving products themselves. Plus all the hangers on who only want to work for the govt subsidized rate and what a bunch of entitled shits they are on the whole, never experienced anything like them in the house renovation/building game. Still, that is exacly what govt produces.

David Cameron AKA Hoody Robin...take from the poor and give from the rich.

That's why I wont be voting free market Tory every again.

Precisely what has happened in the solar power business.....affluent homeowners getting grants for home improvements and the ability to sell back power at an inflated rate to be paid for by the poor.
