So a 2 bed detached house, ground floor has been built on top of 3 garages so you only get 1 floor and probably pissed off quite quickly with the cars coming and going if the noise and vibrations get through. Oh and the garden is facing the side of the next neighbours house.

This life could be yours for £339k

Oh do come now...its Uxbridge, obviously garages aren't intended for cars, they're living quarters for the untouchables or other low caste immigrants!

You could be living above the ambassadors domestic servants...bragging rights if ever I seen them. Surprised the Estate agents haven't marketed this unique possibility.

They've always struck me as ideal social housing. Even throughout metropolitan London there are endless garage blocks that could have flats added above them, providing a significant amount of extra housing without massively changing the existing street scene or nature of an area.

Wouldn't buy one though.

I guess it depends what the garages are actually used for. If it is just long term storage for the c**p that the owners don't use like most garages seem to be these days, then it could actually be better than living in a flat with another flat underneath.

If it is actually used for a car or day-to-day storage then it would definitely be a bit of a nightmare.

That garden though - wtf?

I was just thinking that. I can see the communal bin area but where's the garden. Oh wait...
