How Do I Buy Shares In My Child's Name?

Recommended Posts

I want to start buying regular amounts of shares in my 2yr old daughters name. These are for her future (it's not a tax dodge) and I want to take a very long term view on it so the short term performance is not of overriding concern. So the question is: how do I buy shares in her name? Can I simply register her at a stockbrokers and trade on her behalf or do I need to wrap it in some kind of trust?

Does she also have an ISA entitlement even at this age?

Thanks...

You could have done a child trust fund CTF with squaregain - which you could add more money too- also more info on motley fool www.fool.co.uk. You have to ask a solicitor to set up a trust.
