Mr Pin's Giant Amplifier

Recommended Posts

A few years ago I bought a giant AV amplifier, far too big for any house I could afford, and it went wrong! It was a common problem, rather like piles! The Onkyo company have just fixed it for no charge! Well done Onkyo! Now my neighbours can enjoy 5.1 DTS sound from my pr0n collection, at 0300 hours!

Even my neighbours were complaining about it here in Surrey, Mr Pin.

I reassured them that it was only my porn collection, not yours.

I can hear it in Yatton!

I'll bet you could! I bought a seriously "too large" amplifier! It was about £800 at the time! The Hi-Fi World (I think) recomended the smaller 708 as a very good deal, so I bought the 808 for £150 more! I was thinking like an "electrical engineer", because it weighs 50% more, and didn't claim much extra power output You can't wrong with big transformers and they weigh a bit!

In the abscence of the big one, I purchased a "cheap as chips", well £150, Yamaha from Richer Sounds! The funny thing is I think the Yamaha is very very good, and loud enough for most purposes! I am smashing at wasting money!

In the lonely wastes of Surrey, you can have speakers bigger than vans, and nobody will hear you!
