2015 General Election To Be Cancelled? If A Yes Vote?

2015 General Election may be postponed because a Labour win means they'd be in charge of a 'zombie government' in power thanks to Scottish MPs who would be swept away when Scotland leaves the union
  • The validity of next year's General Election is being called into question if Scotland votes for independence
  • Currently, voters north of the border are expected to be able to take part next May, meaning Labour could win a majority
  • But all Scottish MPs would be swept away in March 2016 if it goes independent
  • Some MPs now suggest they will call for legislation to be introduced to postpone the election in the event of a yes vote

Another year of the ConLib Coalition and of course every current elected MP gets a free salary extension?

I doubt the public would stomach a postponement of an election in 2015. I think an extension to the current Government's tenure would be would be unconstitutional.

If Scottish MPs 'disappear' in 2016, then a Labour government might then fall, but that would 'simply' require another election.

Any politician attempting to extend their tenure without an election is plaing with fire.

Well, surely Norfolk should come before Cornwall, at least they`ve got their own language and their own flag. (2 turnips and a carrot)

What do you mean "now you`re just being silly"?
