Reminds of this place, which is forever being bought and sold: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-44782582.html HORNBLOWER LODGE OFFERS ONE OF THE MOST BREATHTAKINGLY SPECTACULAR POSITIONS ALONG THE HERITAGE COASTLINE, ORIGINALLY A FOG-HORN STATION, NOW CONVERTED TO PRIVATE RESIDENTIAL USE. THE PROPERTY IS OF ROBUST CONSTRUCTION WITH UNINTERRUPTED SEA VIEWS AND INCLUDES A COTTAGE AND AN ANNEXE FOR LETTING. Robust means built with very thick concrete. Not that it'll last if/when the cliff goes.
blobloblob
Perhaps robust construction simply means that it will fall to the beach in one piece. Whereabouts is Bush's hideaway? It doesn't say in the article. Large stretches of the North Devon Coast are made from the kind of sedimentary rock that you can easily break off with your hands. crashmonitor
Would have been perfectly safe in her spiritual home high up in the Pennines and miles from the sea.....Wuthering Heights, Penistone Crags and all that.
crashmonitor
Why is it that I feel surprised that Kate Bush doesn't look like Kate Bush anymore. Surely that's exactly what a woman approaching 60 should look like. However, in the world of pop others seem to be a perma size 8 be it Bonny Tyler, Madonna or Dolly Parton.....so yep I'm surprised http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/music-news/bonnie-tyler-cant-wait-to-picnic-in-stradbally-30538862.html

Saving For a Space Ship
Blimey! You lot and the commenters in the Wail are so unkind to Ms Bush. Personally, I can't resist a bit of word play humour. But seriously, I think she is a musical goddess. I watched these 2 Kate Bush Docs the other night (Watch today as it Expires tonight 1am tonight on Iplayer) http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04dzswb/the-kate-bush-story-running-up-that-hill http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04f86xk/kate-bush-at-the-bbc I was very moved & in awe of her unique, original creativity & sensual beauty over 30+ yrs. Her music is timeless imo. The 70s was such a creative time, yet she repeated the genius with Running up Hill / Hounds of Love lp.

I very much doubt that the possibility of her house, or any of it's 17 acres falling into the sea, are on her mind right now. Going to see her in concert in T-minus 23 days. She could cause subsidence just walking about the average home. Her contemporary Susanna Hoffs seems to have been treated more kindly by time http://fabhype.com/2014/04/28/susanna-hoffs-2014-stagecoach-festival-in-indio/
shrike
Perhaps robust construction simply means that it will fall to the beach in one piece. Whereabouts is Bush's hideaway? It doesn't say in the article. Large stretches of the North Devon Coast are made from the kind of sedimentary rock that you can easily break off with your hands. Though the press have been keen to report on Bush's privacy battles, they do fight shy of actually naming where she is! But I've found references to it being between Prawle Point and Lannacombe, just east of Salcombe. Did find this bit amusing:- "She has spent much of the past decade campaigning to have a public footpath that surrounds the house closed in an effort to gain more privacy. Ironically, her wish was granted after part of it fell into the sea during last year’s landslip." Do hate it when people buy a property and then decide an existing footpath ruins their privacy - if privacy is sooo important then buy somewhere else!
