How To Hold In Currency Other Than Pound

We hada dollar and Euro account as well as standard Sterling. Since closed the Euro account. Interest was low as they were essentially non savings accounts. They just work like normal accounts.

Not sure if you're specifically seeking a Y account in order to buy a Y asset.

But if you just want exposure to the Y as you think it will appreciate versus the £ and $ then simply buying a fund that holds Japanese equities will give you Y exposure plus the possibility of benefitting from any further rise in the Japanese equity market.
