Prepare For Rate Rise Lenders Say

Recommended Posts

Government propaganda.

If you watched Carneys speech yesterday you could clearly see that they haven't a clue and have no intention of raising interest rates until earnings recover [10 years+]?

BBC have been told to put this out as the PTB don't want the London bubble to grow any more and it will destroy the country.

In the 1930s, after 7 years of low rates when wages started to rise they increased the interest rates.

When wages go up....those with a job can then afford to pay more for everything.....they then end up paying for their own pay increases. ;)

The gap continues to grow.

I'm bored of hearing about rate rises, the economy is screwed either way, its just a big tease. It reminds me of this saying ( I paraphrase)

"“The [debt holder of ] today is like the June Bride. He knows he is going to get it, but he doesn't know how big it is going to be"

The genius of the 0.5% interest rates for the last 5 years and the idiots willing to take on debt when rates are at that level....the BoE/Bankers can squeeze money out of them for years to come, slowly and gradually as their over-priced asset becomes worth less and less in real terms.

It's genius.

Propaganda it may be.

But the loosening of the bowels, and draining of all colour from the faces of amateur landlords throughout the UK that this kind of story causes makes it very much my favourite kind of propaganda...

Um..Except lenders are lowering their rates? Always follow the money. Who is the largest debtor? UK Government. Any increase in rates increases their interest bill. They control rates -ergo they will keep them low until something forces them to change that position. If you could control the amount of interest you pay why would you not do this???
