Insufficient usury?

I have less than zero problem with this. In fact, my only beef is that they haven't been charging Muslim account holders a special UMMI tax, just as Islamic states did for non-Muslims for hundreds of years.

I expect this is linked to the huge fine they got in the US for not enforcing money laundering and terrorist financing regulations to the governmens's satisfaction. It's far cheaper for them to close any account which transacts regularly with people in certain countries - whether dodgy or not - than to run the risk of missing a few and being ar5e raped by the next politico looking for some free cash off a foreign bank.
