I've had one for a while.

Seems reliable and reasonably well-built. For reading books, occasional browsing the internet it's perfect.

The OS is a bit restrictive compared to vanilla android OS but if you can live with that I think it's a very good buy.

Thanks for that (and all the other replies).

Browsing and reading books is all I would probably use it for.

Done a bit of research and apparently, you have to pay another €15 if you don't want adverts from Amazon on the boot up page.

Also no camera which is a bit of a bind.

I have a few epub books already - do you know how easy it is to load and read these?

There's a guide here but it's very convoluted.

Seems they really try and tie you down to Amazon which is a bit off-putting. That's the reason I've always avoided Apple products.
