Brightons Oldest Estate Agent

What is the agency called. I've noticed two closing in Hove in the past three months and all the others are deserted whenever I walk past (they were all busy two years ago). You never see anyone standing in front of the windwos anymore (except me to see if prices are falling)...never.

I'm not sure this is good news. With more independents going bust, Countrywide are in an even stronger position to manipulate the market :(.

Just remembered the article in The Argus (local paper) said they'd been in business for 50 years - thats a lot of booms & busts they've survived previously.. Does that say anything to anyone.. :o

yes

it says (probably) in recent years it has been managed by people who can't plan - manage business finances for bad times as well as good.

Richardson's in Worthing has just closed too, and a lot of branches of other agencies have closed. Yet still agents are saying that the market has never looked better and every single one that has shown me around a house, without fail, has told me they have just bought a house because they thought it was the best time.

One rule of selling, show faith in the "product".

You wouldn't want to see a Ford salesperson driving a Vauxhall.
