Offshore Bank Account

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Given the rates for saving accounts offered by high street banks I am thinking of setting up and off shore account where I can keep some of my savings.

I would appreciate if any of you have some thought on this and what bank they recommend.

Regards

Yassen

Offshore to save tax on interest? There are plenty to choose from but they all come with higher charges. Unless you have a substantial amount of money its probably not worth it. Other thoughts welcome though..

Or perhaps the OP meant that they were getting so little interest from UK savings accounts that they might as well ship their savings off-shore where they'd get even less interest but be safe from 'bail-ins'?

Thanks for your thoughts. :) will keep the money in the coffe jar :)

 Its sometimes feels that that could be the best place for it! If you do do this though, I think I would put a few gold or silver coins in among the rolls of paper money! :P
