Desperation or what -

Norfolk

rightmove can only cure their ea's advertising their old stock as new on in last 24 hours for a few days, they just cant help themselves as listing old/very old stock as new on or stc even though its been on the web for months.

Still it gives a good idication of how desperate its getting .................

Some seem to get away with it regularly in my local property paper.

In our area we have an agent with houses on his wedsite as SSTC, that were in fact sold in 2004. You see as people surf his site they just see loads and loads of red sold signs.....uwaa better get a bid in early...can't risk loosing it ...better offer asking

The house behind us was sold and completed early this year....however you can still find it STC on the website, you're not telling me EAs are so stretched for time lately, that it takes this amount of time to remove it

What if there was a "Truth in Advertising" law that prevented EAs from showing houses as "sold" that are STC or were completed sales for more than 90 days.

Perhaps the practice of showing a property as "SOLD" should also be terminated and replaced with "Under Offer" in accordance with truth (a house sale is not binding until contrcats have been exchnaged).

Surely, all this manipulation of the market will eventually backfire. Every "SOLD" sign I see in my area (WEst Midlands) has STC in very tiny print. In fact, the size of the STC print seems to be smaller than ever.

our local property paper in cambs is stuffed with houses. all pages virtually devoid of 'sold' properties. apart from 1. "your move's" page had half of them sold and stands out like a right sore thumb. any thoughts?
