Rght To Buy To Be Scrapped...in Scotland.

Recommended Posts

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-28007965

"The right of council tenants to buy their homes in Scotland is due to be abolished by the Scottish Parliament."

When it comes to election time remember this:

"The Conservatives will make a last-ditch attempt to block the move at Holyrood."

"But the Tories have said ministers are kicking the housing ladder away from those on modest incomes who aspire to home ownership."

"She added: "By ending right-to-buy in two years we will protect up to 15,500 social houses from sale over a 10-year period and safeguard social housing stock for future generations.""

The main issue is the ban on building more council homes.

...and unlimited immigration.

If the population was going down there would be no need for more building.

There are 2 sides to every coin.

It was labour that first brought in right to buy, but I'm glad to see right to buy being scrapped.
England should do the same, if you live in social housing and have enough money to contemplate buying, then you should take advantage of the low cost social housing and save your money first.
The government should get off its **** and build more social housing, if the Tories are the party of home buyers and right to buy, why do they think no new social housing needs to be built?
Social housing is an asset built up over generations no one generation should have the rules changed to favour them over all others.

Judging by the empty flats around me, and in the same block, the (renting) population in Edinburgh is not going up.

They've got this story in the Scotsman as well. Some of the commentators don't seem to like it much...

The jack-boot of socialism is stamped in more faces.

Just another example of a means spirited policy that pulls the rug away from any one one of modest means who aspires to own their own home.

Why do the SNP hate social mobility for hardworking working class scots ?

This reeks of social engineering to keep these people down and allow the SNP policies of grudge and grievance to fester like a cancerous sore for those who seek to better themselves, through hardwork and endevour.

This also helps to explain why they have been so reticent to create jobs and allow the alienated strivers in scottish society to build a better life for themselves and their families.

This is all about taking away people's freedom of choice.

This is just another spiteful dig at those that aspire to own their own home, by a Government steeped in Socialist dogma.

A further example of the shortbread senate's determination to make the people of Scotland completely reliant on the government for every aspect of their very existence.

Okay now let me get this straight, if you live in a council house and move out your not entitled to buy your own house in Scotland ? Why is scotland taking AWAY rights from the scottish people. Thats pretty scary sounds communistic and fascist. The legislature or political members MSP don't own those houses in scotland so what gives them the right to pass a law taking away their rights ?

Exactly as one would expect from a bunch of control freaks. They cannot see anyone getting on in life by owning their own home. This dogma does not apply themselves who feathered their own nests by using the right to buy scheme.

No one likes the magic money tree of other peoples money taken away. I mean it's their god given right to have assets that are the result of prior generations efforts, gifted to them on the cheap.
