1929crash
This story has greatly annoyed me. It involves a 26 year old teacher who claimed to colleagues that she had stomach cancer. she did not but it seems clear that she belived it at relevant times, and also it was widely acknowledge that she was suffering from depression. Nevertheless the hard hearted members of the General Teaching Council for Wales struck her off the teaching register indefinitely and said she could re-apply after five years only if she changed her attitude and if she was medically fit, thus conceding the point that she wasn't medically fit. How on earth can this sentence by pseudo-professionals in any way be called just? To go around claiming you have cancer shows an unbalanced mind IMO and if it has actually been conceded that she was suffering from a mental disability/illness then striking her off was totally unjust and devoid of compassion or mercy. The members of the disciplinary panel ought to have their membership of the human race cancelled indefinitely. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/teacher-samantha-scrine-who-faked-7280834

But rarely do news media report all the facts in these cases.
