Bruce Banner
Question:- Is there a housing bubble? What is the government doing about it? Answer:- Loads of waffle, no substance, (and hopefully no seat after next years general election).
crashmonitor
I think Alexander has done enough to get a good job when he loses his seat. In a recent poll amongst Tory members they like him better than most of their own ministers, which I suppose isn't difficult...except Cable and Clegg polled bottom. I guess there is a seven figure salary being kept warm for him in the City.

“Nasty Piece of work”
Was he one of the thicko's on R4 today? I realise that he was too stupid for even that.
mikthe20
I think he'll do a Churchill and go from Liberal to Tory if he loses his seat. They'll then parachute him into the first bielection with a safe Tory seat.
wonderpup
If Alexander had not existed the Tories would have found it necessary to invent him- A kind of crash test dummy for road testing Tory policies to determine just how much damage they might inflict on electability without exposing the Tory party directly to the fall out. Just shove Alexander onto question time and see what happens.
AThirdWay
He's going to be Prime Minister of Scotland. Hell no! Just under half the population would rather charge him with treason, with just over half thinking he's a tory sock-puppet. 0.01% are thinking of voting for him, but that 0.01% think he's actually a tory.... mikthe20
Will he cross the floor before then? He must be thinking about it, now they've been kippered. I don't think so. In his mind (and indeed all politicians on the verge of a debacle at the polls) the public will return to voting for them when it comes to the general election - the euros was a protest vote they think. As such, he probably thinks there's a chance he could be the leader of the LibDems in another coalition, so why risk crossing the floor now? Dorkins
He's got a 9,000 majority in a seat where the 2nd-4th parties are all pretty evenly split so there is no obvious opponent to rally around. He's not going to lose his seat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness,_Nairn,_Badenoch_and_Strathspey_(UK_Parliament_constituency)
