Recommended Posts

Increasingly the Guardian has become one of the better (free) sources, though it has its fair share of press release crap

George monbiot seems to get the housing issue, so does Owen jones.

It was the only paper trusted with wiki leaks, says more about the state of the right wing dross that calls themselves newspapers in this country.

If estate agents had any brains they would want prices to drop so that volumes could start returning to normal. A wave of panicked/forced sales would bring them buckets of commission. They don't know their own business.

But that would mean smaller commissions per sale.... They want higher sales and bigger volumes...

That's a different issue from the general price level of the market.

Its ok them saying that, but I bet they are squealing for intervention when online agencies with a flat fee really take off.

A bit like cabbies protesting at UBER.

They are trying to set up their own version of rightmove or zoopla with the express intention of excluding the online agencies. So while they love the free market as much as the next guy it's not something they want in their back yard.
