This Is The Landlord That Was Renting The "studio Flat" In Kings Cross (The One With Bed By The Sink)

Recommended Posts

The slums have returned over the last 10 years. I wonder who bad society will let them get before taking action to clear them and rebuild the council housing stock.

We already have shanty towns in London (beds in sheds) - local councils will be frightened to clear them as they will be responsible for rehousing them.

We have reports of people living under bridges and living in woods.

People living in sheds

The longer the government restrict planning and prop up the price of essential housing, the more people who will need to be rehoused.

The slums of old are looking positively cosy compared to the BTL sums of today. The UK has gone backwards 100 years in a little over 10!

I'm not kidding either, the pictured of the slums actually look nicer than some streets I have witnessed in the UK.

You're mistaken. The picture above is a work of modern art (an 'installation') by a famous artist.

The council is currently taking enforcement action on a number of properties he has constructed recently. Recently we opposed a particularly large development to construct another floor of bedsits above the Co-op and the planning permission was refused.

Poor bloke - all he was doing was following the excellent advice of Kirstie Allsop, and the council had the damned cheek to refuse permission?

Don't they know who he is?

Why do we have to cram more and more people into the same size space, when residential land only takes up 1.1% of the UK's land surface?

Because this lot vote and have the time to grumble, moan and then grumble some more.

The development clearly did not meet the definition of 'pods', and the council has a pod target to meet.

Because if housing did not get smaller, then it would have to get cheaper, to become affordable.

And we can't have that can we (Kirsty)?
