At the point they start to properly realise that they've been shafted. The problem is, all children are used to "mummy knows best", and more importantly, they're used to "mummy does / advises what's best for me". The fact that mummy doesn't know her **** from her elbow and is inadvertently ******ing her own kids over will not become apparent to them for a few years yet IMO. There is a mindest of ''mummy's'' assets being your assets when you are in your twenties....it takes a while to dawn that actually (unless you are born into a very wealthy family indeed) you will be locked out until it is too late for you to benefit. 200p Posted June 2, 2014 Share Posted June 2, 2014 I went to church this Sunday, to have my bands read - I think we will start going to church more regularly as it is helping my partner get out and get out of C.F syndrome. Anyway, I noticed a few young mums there, and mostly elderly people there. No young men, and no boomers ( I am in my 30s). Wow is all I can say. Heard a Scottish MP talking about oil reserves for Scotland...Apparently, there is the same amount of oil available as has been pumped out through all of the time Scotland has been pumping it...I wonder what the doubling time is for Scottish Oil...that is the time that is left in this scenario.....not the 35 years the man claimed. Successive governments have continued policies that have favoured boomers over other generations, especially around HPI, so what were boomers supposed to do? I must admit if I was in that position 30 years ago, I would have enjoyed the benefits and maximised them as much as possible. Why wouldn't I if everyone else was doing the same? What annoys me now is the fact that boomers generally don't see that the landscape for the younger generations is nowhere near as favourable as it was for them. Thats because Government is stupid...it makes mistakes time and time again, but then engages in reflective practice, but is incapable of changing its course.. Just WHO were people supposed to vote for? There was no choice outside of the duopoly. It's the same old, no matter who you vote for, the government wins. He went as far to say that he knows they are crap, but they are not Labour so that's ok.And we wonder why we are screwed when people write blank cheques like that.
