Maybe they're getting ready for the bankruptcy flood. People may have 'lie-to-buy'-ed thinking that they could easily get out of their debts with the new bankruptcy laws if it went wrong, but presumably if the mortgage company can go to the court and say 'but, your honor, this fraudster lied to us about their income, otherwise we wouldn't have given them the mortgage, honest', they might find it's not as easy as they imagine.

& presumably these people end up being bankrupt & with a fraud conviction & can never get anything on credit ever again.

I caught the end of an item, which appeared to be saying the FSA where looking at fraud with self cert mortgages.

Did anyone here all of this or has anyone seen a news article about it?

Phil
