Apple To Pay Ex-Burberry Boss Ahrendts $68M In Shares

US technology giant Apple has awarded its new retail chief Angela Ahrendts a pay package which includes $68m (£40m) in shares.

The pay award, which amounts to 113,334 shares, was revealed in a regulatory filing to the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC).

Apple announced the appointment of Ms Ahrendts in October, but she only started her job on 1 May.

She was previously chief executive of UK luxury retailer Burberry.

Ms Ahrendts will receive 85% of the shares as long as she stays with Apple for four years, regardless of performance.

Now that's the type of employment you need, you get the cash regardless of what your personal performance is. Providing others work hard, keep up the share price you coin it in.

I wonder if other Apple employees will get the same performance related bonus?

What do they want the skank for anyway? 'Luxury retailer' Burberry's gone titsup alongside China. She got anything else in her trick bag?

It certainly happened when they inexplicably hired the ex-Dixons guy to head up the retail division a few years ago. Massive upfront payment, huge salary and he left after 6 months of failure.

I wonder what new device they have? At last reports I think they reported a large miss on tablet sales to eexpectations. Market commentary is that it is close to saturation. Whether tablets end up like the ipod I dunno. Others are better placed to comment.
