More Tales Of Woe....

Recommended Posts

A couple of bits of info from down here in deepest darkest sussex;

1/ News story in our local rag down here today- 75,000 professionals & keyworkers (including nurses, teachers, doctors etc) are living below the breadline in Sussex- jobs that traditionally were regarded as good jobs now dont pay enough to guarantee a decent standard of living

Who the hell can afford to live in this country then? Cant buy houses, no decent pension, blah blah- utterly depressing stuff.

2/ Was talking to a very good friend yesturday- her & her partner have just bought a house locally & are renting out their flat. They are just about to remortgage the flat to release some cash on I/O mortgage- she basically told me that they were going through an financial advisor elsewhere as they didnt want the mortgage lenders to investigate her salary-

Can you really do that? It AMAZED me that mortgage lenders will just dish out cash without any investigation of whether it can be paid back- incredible!

Yes you can do that, see the latest FSA report - basically they have little or no control over the broker network and are being roundly ignored by that segment. Their cleanup has failed and it is being glossed over until the sh!t hits the fan later on down the line.
