Im going to Bali in June with Virgin I never felt as entirely safe on a plane as I did flying a few weeks after 9/11*, once there has been any incident the security is stepped up massively. In your position I'd feel safer knowing that there has been an attempted hijack as the security forces will be on alert. * or comfier. The pilots squawked 7500 when he started banging on the cockpit door, probably unaware that the problem was no more sinister than some idiot who'd had too much to drink, and within moments the world's media was reporting a hijack.
