My first thoughts (after agreeing with the comment that the proposal is "borderline insane") were........

Just who initiated this whole idea? and WHY!?? What does the government get out of it?

followed by.......

Hey ho. IF we are going to have to live with this further erosion of personal privacy maybe there will be some token 'silver lining'? It could work both ways? We could get to request and see the personal tax details of the wealthy and political classes we all hate and despise so much. No?

Any bets that, whatever system that HMRC implement, it will be done in such a way as to protect those sorts of people?!

welcome to the corporate state. The people at the top are doing it because of all the expense scandals and leaked wages, those at the top are saying how do you feel, you like it.

That is truer than you realise.

HMRC already tag the records of VIPs with special security markers and apply additional protection to them than to ordinary citizens

You can be sure that these records are not going to be shared

The splitting of British society into 'honestiores' .and 'humiliores' is already well under way

This is the thing a lot of folk who bang on about the evils of socialism and state socialism almost always invariably miss - the alternative is more often than not a corporate state serving the elite's agenda. Worse. Far far worse.

I'd say we're already there myself.

Yes it would seem they prefer a state captured by the corporations and the 1% to one captured by the proles- 'populism' is a term of abuse in the democracies of the west- which is a bit odd given the fact that democracies are supposed to be driven by the expressed preferences of the populace- if not 'populism' then what? Do we actually secretly aspire to be governed by a benevolent elite? Probably.

Can only be a means to an end.

Usually the end is declared before the means, but in this case it appears the Tories would rather not declare the purpose.

Dead cert it'll be a US corporate (or US govt) telling instructing them to do it though.

Of course in some European countries such as Norway nearly all the tax records are open to the public. In some ways I think this is the best counter argument to this sort of money grubbing proposal from HMRC. As the public is required to part with this information by law then they should also have access to it rather than the data being passed to selected third parties while being kept secret from the rest of us.

When is George going to privatise the Treasury? The simple thing is to just hand it back to the Queen.

it doesn't belong to either him or the queen in the first place.it belongs to the public.

even the queen/monarchy of this country are under very strict rules regarding their personal effects.

excess profit from taxes levied etc are NOT property of the queen/crown.they are national assets.(belonging to the country as a whole)

he is (meant to be)a trustee.

I'm guessing certain individuals will be exempt from having their information sold, ie the Queen and anyone else in the establishment.

So once more the proles get to be shown they are worthless and just need to bend over to take it.

not allowed under our law.

all must be declared.

the elites agenda is not really much different from the church of 500 years ago.

ie they own all the property and means of production and if you don't like it screw you....and starve.

...actually i think the modus operandi of the "church" of those days has not changed one bit....they still have their fingers in many corporate pies.(lets think communications here......branson...VIRGIN media(virgin mary or black madonna?)

..rupert murdoch(FOX news..THAT'S UNFORTUNATE.... gematria says 6, 60,600...or 666)..not quite the nice guy you though he was.

..all tony blairs mates too...oops.

does seem rather curious that they seem to be following the protocols as a blueprint, some of us see it as a warning.

maybe some of us will be sodding off to pastures new to let them fulfill the "protocol"

...yes it includes england...but NOBODY of english descent is the mastermind behind it.

..that's why we leave.

and that's why the true english will end up attacking england.(sounds bizarre but think about it)..makes sense if you have installed a placeman to be a total @rse and discredit the country...funnily enough we will be doing it with the assistance of the new improved orthodox russia( not quite yet as their is still quasi-marxism to deal with there...but soon enough they will rid themselves of the yoke of communism and find themselves a new peter the great)
