Not me. Have you run a virus scan? Is it device specific?

Yes. None detected.

I think it's a problem with the forum. It only happens with this link.

Several others forums have been infected.

If the ├╝bergeeks at Pigeon Watch have had problems then it doesn't augur well for others.

I've been using a borrowed computer past few days, (on Linux Ubuntu 12.04 lts) and also getting this occasionally when opening hpc links.

Sends me to a page all about Wireless Routers, at the end suggesting I click a link for new router deals, that I haven't clicked.

Yes I've had this, wasted a good few hours trying to get rid of it. The DNS on my router got hacked a month or so back too so I was on red alert. Very annoying.

I've not seen this at all! That was helpful?

Usually I access this site with Firefox on Linux.

Using Chrome on this borrowed linux computer, whatever it is appears to intercept and redirect me, when clicking on HPC thread links, directly from Google itself.

Eg: I google: 'HPC forum' - or google a hpc thread I'm searching for info on, then click the google link, occasionally get taken to this U4S place.

I did read an explantion of it, rather detailed, but I'm not sure I understood it?

Never seen this, but in the "New Forum Software" thread at the top of OT (http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=198062) it says

The forum software version that was previously running was riddled with security issues, resulting in theurl4short.info etc.
We took immediate / short notice action to resolve the security problems, so nobody was notified.

We haven't changed the software, simply upgraded to the latest stable release.
Unfortunately the old theme was totally incompatible with the update.
The forum was down for the minimum time required while the upgrade process took place, due to the number of updates required this took a total time of around an hour.

Doesn't appear to have worked. Ho hum.

Why not switch it off, and then back on again?

I too thought this was patched!

Since I never saw the original problem, I can't really see the difference!

I'm finding now that on the odd google search when I click on the HPC link I'm taken to theurl4short.info this appears to be intermittant so can't say search for this and get taken there. The only way I can get around going to the .info link is to click on the google cache link instead.

When using google to search for topics I keep getting the theurl4short.info. Since posting the above I've been taken to it around 6 times when searching for old threads. Clicking the google cache resolves the issue and if I do another google search for a different page that will come straight to HPC.

I have found that over the last few months if I go to Google and type "housepricecrash forum " (and an optional subject) and click on a link that should go to the forum, I get redirected to a dodgy site.

Have tried from android, opera, IE, dolphin, on home and work computers and its always the same.

Can anyone else verify please?

Browser may need to be cleansed, but as long as its not a conspiracy, it's just some perl code on the invison servers.

I did let the webmaster know a few weeks ago, but its not fixed.

Could be causal to our message not reaching the boiling frogs / sheeple!

I had that problem in Firefox with a few odd websites. It turned out that it was a rogue firefox plugin/extension, I cant recall which but I kept the bare minimum including property bee and the issue went away.

But this is happening on different platforms, on different browsers. All with the same result. Once you have the cookies on your system, it does not reappear; only the first time. Please see if it happens on a "sterile" browser.

I've read 90% of posts on HPC for the last 2 years, and believe the messages here should reach all who seek it, and this is a dissuasion.
