N Z Rate Hike Imminent

Elsewhere the New Zealand dollar rose to a ten-year high of NZ$1.0525 against the Australian dollar, helped by the prospect of widening interest rate differentials. Australia is expected to hold interest rates at 5.5 per cent on December 6, while New Zealand is forecast to hike its rate by a quarter of a point to 7.25 per cent two days later.

With interest rates rising around the world, how much longer before the pound is battered by a massive sell-off?

If I remember correctly that means in the past few months...

US

Eurozone

India

Australia

Japan

New Zealand

Indonesia

and probably many more...

have raised IRs.

At the same time the UK has dropped it's rate. That won't go on much longer.

Canada too, though it looks like they'll be having another election in the new year so I doubt we'll see any more raises from them for a few months. I'd expect plenty afterwards though.
