Property - Don't Get Over Excited

Recommended Posts

Something for all those people to bear in mind before they cash up their pensions and invest in real estate.

Yes, I know this is commercial real estate but it occupies land and is made of bricks - its the same thing!

Yes, I know this trend has been going on for a number years too.

Tinsel t1ts was doing the business news on R4, chatting about Next's results.

He said - and this was 6ish in the morning - Next's revenue is ~3bln - 2bln in shops, 1bln online.

The online business makes a lot more profit than the brick bit.

Now, Next are a very very successful retailer.

Imagine what an unsuccessful retailer's numbers are like. And there are still a lot of those.

They said that Next is now worth 9 billion - think they said that it is 3 billion more than M&S.

I read a few months ago that the share price had risen on massive buybacks - no idea how true that is.

Next sales always have massive queues of women waiting outside at 4 in the morning. I went into a Next sales once and will never go near one again. I thought women were going to lynch me.
