Halifax Relaunches Free Stamp Duty Offer

Recommended Posts

£2.5k refund, big deal.

It doesn't say what rate you will be paying but a small margin above its competitors and it will recoup most, if not all, of the money.

Let's face it, many FTB'ers probably don't understand interest rates anyway. They do understand a "£2.5k refund"

This is a clever ploy to bring people into Halifax, nothing more.

5.19% for the first two years... that's £1130/mo on 'average' priced house HTB.

Then you get whacked with an extra £875/pa fee for the loan in the sixth year onwards.

Then you get the joy of repaying the equity loan, which will nullify any 'gains' you've made.

And what's the arrangement fee?

Plainly, people in the UK ARE that stupid.

Those with 'learned helplessness/ignorance' have proven to be deserving of all the bail-outs.

And all the HPCers excuses for why they are victims.

It just doesn't stop now, with these sort of offers, more year-on-year HPI, and no doubt more future excuses.

The greed, the reckless and the feckless. Has a nice ring to it and equally applies to borrowers and lenders.
