Black Swan - Interest Rates Rise To 7%

Recommended Posts

A "Black Swan" such as a left wing Europe backing a fascists upraising, to enrage their ex-communists neighbours. rolleyes.gif

Don't worry the trade sanctions will sort this all out.

We will be able to sit in the dark, and think long and hard about a possible solution, when Russia turns off the gas.mad.gif

Feels a bit reichmark 1922 with exchange rates killing the rouble as the international community loses confidence. If foreign currency keeps going down the toilet (as has the yen and yuan lately)it might just balance out the effects of higher energy in the UK.

Time to flatten Blackpool and start getting some of that shale gas out.

It'd be a bit hard to flatten even Blackpool with Magnitude 2 earthquakes from fracking..

In terms of wave-size, the recent all-natural Bristol Channel Earthquake was 100 times bigger and 1000 times more energetic.

Higher rates -> invest in Russia, or at least EMs. They're all raising rates and hiking the value of their currencies (well, many are).

Spot on. It's fairly obvious the game over Ukraine is just that - a game between US/West and Russia. Probably related to the ongoing game in Syria.

Maybe time for Russia and China to announce moves towards a currency standard based on gold (and possibly oil) ... That would put the cat amongst the pigeons on Wall Street.

Although the counter point is that to fund war Russia needs to sell to Europe. Plus winter is nearly over turning off the gas now might not have any real effect.

Patience, patience. This is coming - in time.

Carry on Fracking.

Dave's been looking for an excuse to shift it into overdrive.

Nobody loves a barrel-scraping exercise in futility more than Dave.

It's not a loss of confidence in the Russian economy. It's the western banksters p1ssing around just like with LIBOR and gold prices.

Maybe Vlad will do an Abe Lincoln and introduce the Russian equivalent of the greenbacks which funded the war between the states.
