'Power of recall' of MPs ditched by coalition

The coalition is set to drop plans to give voters the ability to dismiss MPs for "serious wrongdoing".

The idea of a "power of recall", where 10% of an MP's electorate could sign a petition calling for a by-election, was introduced after the expenses scandal.

The procedure was promised in the Coalition Agreement, of May 2010.

It just goes to prove that it's impossible to believe any of their "promises". That is verbal or written promises made before an election, after an election or in any of their written and signed election manifestos.

so what we need then is a US-constitutionally based house of elected members.(it's actually our system too, but the PTB would rather you forget about niceties like magna carta etc)..in fact, the opposition HATE our system of governance so much that they have sent emmisaries over from the continent periodically over the past 500 years to try and screw it up on purpose.....this time is no different.

..that way the MP's are bound by law(and threat of force) to obey the people that voted for them.(those taking backhanders from foreign entities hostile to us will then face the proper punishment.)

...if you think it's a dead duck over there, just wait for one or two more years...and you will see how the system works( yes revolution 2.0 is coming and the constitutionalists WIN..they have had the "oligarchs" under surveillance for a long,long time...at LEAST 150 years,so know the gameplan.)

...as farage rightly points out, it's going to get a bit rough.

The Lib Dems' "big thing" was supposed to be constitutional reform. But they have failed on virtually everything - Lords reform, voting system, and now the recall.

and these were all in Nick Clegg's brief! As well as being untrustworthy, he is completely incompetent.
