More Web Problems?

Recommended Posts

I have had difficulty reaching HPC for the last day or so. yesterday, it was very. very slow, then after about 10:30 pm totally unreachable. This morning, nothing, not even a ping response. I have seen other websites disappear like this before, I did mention www.delusiondamage.com as having disappeared - after a few days it came back. Last night I could not reach paypal, ebay, or sagepay, even though other websites like bbc seemed just fine.

Currently accessing HPC through a proxy. Anyone else noticed similar problems?

The Internet is 20 years old now! I want something modern.

Twitter! That'll solve all your problems.

Never been there! The things I have to say will take a larger space than 260 bytes to say, for I am an old Ent, and don't be so hasty young Hobbits!

Over 24 hours and still no ping, unless I use a proxy. I'm on Plusnet. I suppose less technically minded who don't know how to get a proxy can't read these forums anyway, but is there anyone else using Plusnet?

Seem to be a lot of DDOS about.

Last night LCN web host went down, and took down a freebie VPS I have with them which has a few sites on (well it would have done but have Varnish/reverse proxy hosted on Amazon (EC2) which can serve content for a short while if the backend is down). LCN isn't one of the minnow hosts either. Looked like DDOS, their main website was down but just about pingable.

Tonight another web host went down (but forgotten who!).

Update: Yes LCN was suffering DDOS
