Hello, long time lurker here. I live and grew up in London and, like all of you got fed up of the ridiculous house prices in London (and much of the UK), and found myself on here.  Anyway, enough

OH NO!

RIGHTMOVE HAS CHANGED!

i have to open every entry individually to get the listings history

anyone else have this happen??

Looks like they broke property bee. Property tracker for chrome still works but I have found this to be less reliable than property bee (sometimes misses changes that PB always catches).

Edit: should have read your actual post properly. Yes, PB still works if you click through to the individual listing.

Leeds specifically:

2002: sales: 15394, avg price: 98549

2003: sales: 15166, avg price: 120109

2004: sales: 14897, avg price: 140511

2005: sales: 12445, avg price: 149729

Ten years on:

2012: sales: 6580, avg price: 165286

2013: sales: 8413, avg price: 167023

2014: sales: 8414, avg price: 171242

RPI inflation reduces the 2014 real value by 26%, so £126K in 2004 money.

1. Brilliant data provision - many thanks

2. Classic negative outlook indicator: Higher prices, (much) lower volumes...

Just sayin' your comparison is accurate and as useful as a chocolate teapot

Reminds of balloonist who lands in a unknown field miles from anywhere

Asks farmer standing there where he is. Reply is 3 miles out of town.

Balloonist says 'you're an accountant aren;t you?'

'Yes, why'.

"Bcos you're answer is no doubt accurate but ****ing useless"

That's been tweaked from the original purpose - do your own planning balloonist/HPI chasers/ investment gamblers - not complain afterwards, incur losses, complain you have to pay fees to professionals to try and help get your out of your own mess / complain bankers are giving you hassle for not paying your debts. That story is well known in my own family (full of solicitors).

A man is flying in a hot air balloon when he realizes he is lost. He reduces his altitude and spots a man in a field below. He lowers the balloon toward the man and shouts to him, “Excuse me, can you help me? I am late to meet a friend, but I don’t know where I am.”

The man below says, “I’m happy to help. You are in a hot air balloon, hovering approximately 30 feet above this field. You are between 40 and 42 degrees N. latitude, and between 58 and 60 degrees W. longitude.”

After a brief pause, the balloonist declares: “You must be a lawyer.”

“I am” replies the man. “How did you know?”

“Well,” says the balloonist, “everything you have told me I am sure is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost.”

The man below responds, “Indeed. And you … You must be a client.”

“Why, yes, I am,” replies the balloonist, “how in the world did you know?”

“Well,” says the lawyer, “you don’t know where you are, or where you are going. You have made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The fact is you are in the exact same position you were in before we met, but now it is somehow my fault.”

You instruct the solicitors to protect your position in advance of taking commercial risks, and appoint accountants to check over numbers in advance before investments etc.

Balloonists - don't blame the solicitors and the accountants when you have to pay 2 or 5 times more in fees for their expertise, in trying to assist you, because you confidently or recklessly rushed in high risk situations.

Nightmare, just tried it.

That alone stops me looking at rightmove.

Are any the fine gentlemen on here that do such a great public service, looking at it ?

Do we need post a topic on it's own for this ?
