£400 Million Dip In Xmas Spending

Recommended Posts

Yeah but if a debt junkie told me they "hoped not to have to use their credit card" it sounds like a smoker making a new years resolution to cut down on the cancer sticks.

I bet all the reports after xmas will tell us people spent as normal and that debt has risen to some god awful level.

I think most people, although concerned about personal debt, see x-boxes, DVD's and flash clothes as essential to their survival.

If they can get their hands on it, they will spend it.

edit: how strange i tried to quote libitinas post not the link. (bring back one of your previous avatars, they were the highlight of my sad days)

sadly the report says spending on xmas presents will still be 14. 7 billion pounds

what a completely frivolous waste of money

"ebeneezer kenclarksshoes.."

after midnight tonight you will be visited by 3 ghosts.

the ghost of rentals past.

the ghost of lodgings present.

and the ghost of future prices. (in chains)

after midnight tonight you will be visited by 3 ghosts.

the ghost of rentals past.

the ghost of lodgings present.

and the ghost of future prices. (in chains)

the ghost of rentals past will show me a scene from a miserable glasgow bedsit

it will show me a washed up drop out carrying a squeegee and a black bin liner.

he will say its your turn to take out the rubbish and clean the kitchen.

he will then play music really loud and shag his girlfriend all night while i try not to listen.

the ghost of lodgings present will shoe me a scene from a comfortable london flat

it will show me a landlord who has just been burnt by a business falloff and falied property venture in cyprus

the landlord will say 'sorry mate but you have to move out by the end of November'

'my wife is moving back from cyprus and my step-daughter and her husband are also moving in and

want your room'

the ghost of future prices is pointing westwards

in the general direction of the continent

i see a lot of hard years ahead
