Teenage Pregnancies Down

Recommended Posts

Big reduction of teenage pregnancies (mainly in deprived areas). There must be a reason for this, an effect of the bedroom tax, the threat of removal of benefits?

Abortions + deliveries, rates per 1000, females aged 18 and under:

1994: 41.5, aborted 37%

2007: 42.1, aborted 45%

2008: 40.3, aborted 45%

2009: 37.3, aborted 45%

2010: 35.9, aborted 45%

2011: 30.6, aborted 45%

Basically abortion rates rose from 2000 to 2007 but now static. Conceptions falling since 2007.

Females aged 19-20:

1994: 13.2, aborted 21%

2007: 16.4, aborted 24%

2011: 14.6, aborted 28%

The stats linked to by the BBC aren't great, because they don't distinguish between 15 year olds, who should still be at school, and 19 year old women.

Or depleted uranium dust blowing in from Fallujah and the rest of Iraq:

The Queen's Death Star Depleted Uranium Measured in British Atmosphere from Battlefields in the Middle East

The Sunday Times Online, February 19, 2006, reported on a shocking scientific study authored by British scientists Dr. Chris Busby and Saoirse Morgan: "Did the use of Uranium weapons in Gulf War 2 result in contamination of Europe? Evidence from the measurements of the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), Aldermaston, Berkshire, UK". The highest levels of depleted uranium ever measured in the atmosphere in Britain, were transported on air currents from the Middle East and Central Asia; of special significance were those from the Tora Bora bombing in Afghanistan in 2001, and the "Shock & Awe" bombing during Gulf War II in Iraq in 2003. Out of concern for the public, the official British government air monitoring facility, known as the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), at Aldermaston was established years ago, to measure radioactive emissions from British nuclear power plants and atomic weapons facilities.

Isn't it because kids today are less virile than their parents?

I read somewhere years ago about the levels of estrogen in the water supply ( due to pill usage ) was causing fertility issues.

Also, we have a policy of paying doctors to impregnate infertile couples, via IVF, to have offspring....evolution being what evolution is, that's probably a bad idea.

"More babies are born to women in the most deprived areas, the figures show, with a birth rate of 37.2 per 1,000 compared with 18.6 per 1,000 in the least deprived.

This pattern was even more striking for teenage pregnancies, with 31.1 per 1,000 teenage girls in the most deprived areas compared with 3.6 per 1,000 teenage girls in the least deprived."

Now I wonder why that could be?

Hmmm..

I was under the impression that teenage girls get pregnant at about the same rate whatever their family income, but richer ones have abortions (career prospects, social stigma) while poorer ones have the baby (improved access to benefits, motherhood giving them status and a purpose in life).

Some fact based context behind headline figures, how dare you.....

Looks like your impression is wrong.

....that makes sense......I am sure there are more richer ones that regret their lifestyle choices, than the poorer ones...no gain without pain, I am sure most loved kids pay back their creation many fold over the years. ;)

Basically mandatory 'education' until you're in your mid 20s nowadays?

Dont know why...you would think putting a bunch of virile young bucks and does in rooms together would increase copulation, but 'education' seems to surpress birth rates among the young.

I guess it keeps them busy. Otherwise theyd be sitting at home or in the park everyday fornicating endlessly.

Could be other things. The hedonistic white population of shithole areas decreasing and being replaced by an ultra-conservative islamic population. Although young pregnancies are hardly rare in islamic societies.

Plus, its just 'per 1000'. Doesnt seem age specific. Maybe with the ageing of society there are less <20s compared to the whole of society anyway.

Apparently boys brought up on porn think that you should finish off like porn stars, I believe it’s called a facial 

consequence is less pregnancies

Also better sex education has helped together with better contraception such as implants
