No one jailed. £1.4 bn fine when they probably made 100's of billions from this crime. And exactly where does this £1.4 billion go? Back to the banks? Who is really going to pay this fine? Anyone who works for a bank, knowingly takes pay from criminal organisations. No-one with any integrity would work for an organisation systemically involved in LIBOR rate fixing, exchange rate fixing, overcharging, credit fraud, insider dealing, PPI misselling, cartels, money laundering for drugs cartels, money laundering for suspected terrorists, etc., etc. Even a teller in a bank branch works for, and takes money in pay from, these criminals. It is time we ostracised anyone who works for a bank. They should be social outcasts, no better than anyone who works for drug dealers, fences for stolen goods, fraudsters and gangsters. There is now no moral difference between a bank robber and a bank clerk; they both derive their earnings from theft and fraud. I would not let a bank employee in my house, nor sit at the same table as them in a restaurant or pub. If we let the grass roots employees know our contempt, it might eventually make a difference. So.. if I hold up a bank, take the money home and then hand myself in to the police, I may be found guilty by the court, but I'll be let off prison - because I assisted the investigation - AND I'll be allowed to keep the cash. This is a new and interesting criminal law policy, should we call it 'Decriminalizing Crime'? nah 3.2 billion in euros was a great deal as the cost of Police investigating would have been much greater. better have the criminal do the investigating as that leads to all the other conspiriters going to bail. seriously, in the case of serial criminals, Police tend to present 1 or two charges which they can easily prove, then have the rest ( thousands in the case of bankers) TIC ( taken into consideration)...this should mean an easier trial and fast conviction. Seems here they Authorities have no will to prosecute....again, it is Government laxity that prevails....it was there before, during and continues into the crisis. Whilst this continues, there will be no end until it all gets very nasty indeed. Course, with a failed banking system in entirety, no-one is going to be paying for the internet....night night all those sheltering in crypto currency.
