Mapping Of Sold Properties

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I am building a map with all the data from HM Land Registry on it. The map can be found here: http://sold-property-map.co.uk

Its still in development so any feedback at this point would be great.

I hope its fine for me to post a link like this, I didn't see any rules against it on the 'Forum Rules' page.

Is it possible to have layers? ...so that say, each year could be in a different display layer?

I think that should be possible... maybe I could color the markers so that the most recent ones are darker or something.

or I could let the user select which years to display...

I will see what I can do. -at the moment I am looking at increasing the amount of data - so it will go back to 1995.

that will make the need to filter even greater I guess.

Nice work. Would be nice if you could select the parameters of the years sold.

it's a great bit of kit.Is there any way you can widen the map and have the flags to pop up as you do so?

I would like to make it work like this, but it is actually quite complicated the do.

also - the more markers that are on the map the more sluggish the whole thing gets.

Just looked up my old address.

2-bed terrace in same road sold Jan 2009 £175K. Same house sold in August this year for £240K.:o

Depressing.

Edit to add another: £238K in 2010, identical house next door £315K in 2012. General pattern in area of 30% plus rises over about 3 years.

Large commuter "village" in East Berks.

Looks good - thanks for sharing with us

Would be good if:

you could search for a street by name and town or county rather than just postcode, e.g. St Johns Street, Newcastle upon Tyne

after inputting the postcode and selecting search, the tool confirnms which street you are looking at - i.e. gives the name.

if sold data and location for more adjacent streets would come up following a search.
