In October the average cost of renting a home in the UK decreased by 4.6% to £815 per month However, UK rental amounts are still an average of 2.7% more than in October 2012 Every region, apart from the North East and Northern Ireland, saw a decrease in monthly rents during October 2013 The North East was home to the largest increase, after the average cost of renting a home in the region rose by 1.4% during October 2013 to £515 per month When the Greater London figure is removed, the average cost of renting a home in the UK decreased by 3.4% during October 2013 to £672 per month It is currently 90.9% more expensive to rent a home in the capital than the rest of the UK (when the Greater London figure is removed)' I'm unsure of their methodolgy.
