Treasury Committee Asks Bank Of England To Clarify Its Role On Help To Buy Scheme

Recommended Posts

It's quite funny that critics of the Help to Buy scheme are worried that it might have the unintended consequence of creating house price inflation- they are wrong.

House price inflation is not an unintended consequence of the policy, it's the entire purpose of the policy- it's the reason Osborne created it.

I do remember reading this- it's an interesting theory- that HTB2 is designed to mitigate the impact of repossessions hitting the market en masse- but I'm more persuaded that it's just a short term election strategy designed to suck in more greater fools for the benefit of a Tory mini boom just ahead of the vote.

Yes I think it`s a bit of a double edged sword , UKAR and UKARcs is just a bit too convenient ,one has control over the assets and the other has control of the finance thats needed to by those assets
