Property Ramping On Bbc1 & Bbc2 Simultaneously.

Recommended Posts

This morning BBC1 is showing Homes Under the Hammer, whilst BBC2 is showing Plan it, Build it.

BBC Breakfast News was set to end at 9am with Krusty as final guest; think for one of her crafty-homey segments. Had to turn it off before she came on.

Cancel your license fee, buy a book.

**** the banks and **** the bbc.

Amen to that. I just can't bring myself to watch that sycophantic gov-sanctioned claptrap any more.

Flicked over.

One house was said to be worth £135k once done up to a good standard.

3 months later - SAME EA comes back. Values it at 2.5k more than they said previously.

The other EA states the market was not great at the moment. Even the people doing it up noted the market has dropped.

How exactly in this situation can the same EA come back and value it higher ?

Complete fiction - that's what.

Its the way this fictional programme is portrayed as factual that is the main problem i have with it.

As others have noted before - if this was to do with investing in shares or similar - people would probably be heading to a cell.

And where did the couple in question get the idea for this ? As many of them do - this very programme.

Anyone who doesn't think this sort of programme is important is very wrong imo.

It is HUGELY influential.

Escape to the Country this afternoon on BBC1 Bruce.

That usually is laugh out loud funny though

"No room for the Aga"

"Want a project.." which usually turns into..

"Needs a lot of work"

"Need several fields for horse/dog/cat"

"Need an artists studio"

Hundreds of bedrooms for guests that never come of course..

Caught the final 10 minutes of HUTH. A mum-and-son developers not so happy with the 'value' the EAs gave.

The final couple bought that cottage-house in Devon as a home - and I liked them both. Only seen about 15 episodes of HUTH but can't recall any I've seen where the auction property has been bought to be a home, rather than a rental or a flip. Old show though, as the graphic had the EAs come in to value the Devon house sometime in 2010.

I wonder how many people agreed to be filmed by HUTH buying their property at auction only to find later they will lose money and pull out of the show, too damaging to the ego.

No, can`t have too much reality on a "reality" show, might upset the sheeple.

You won't be parted from that idiom will you?! :D

No, learned it on here and will keep using it on here. I don`t use it with spite or venom (just annoyance at how people threw themselves on the Ponzi) It is a gentle term (patronising, yes I agree) to describe people who are only using a tiny fraction of their mental capacity and are unwilling or unable to take responsibility for researching and thinking for themselves, doesn`t mean people can`t change, it just means a lot of people in the UK have been taking the easy mental route for quite a few years. Someone should start a thread to discuss the use and meaning of the word sheeple on here, it would be interesting.

Haha! Make me laugh, my mother has always been into property and now her and my stepfather live in a 6 bed room bungalow in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand!

Just who do they think is coming to stay? We cant even afford the ticket there!

"Oh, capital appreciation"

I see. So, where are the youngsters going to get the money to fund this property and their four kids?

"Good question."

..

Typical sentiment of the I am not selling for less than it's worth (to me).

Needless to say, here in Ireland they go one step further - They build their Mc.Mansion in the middle of nowhere, have 6 kids then wonder why they cant afford to pay the mortgage.

I keep saying to my wife when looking at property anything over 125sqm is starting to get excessive once you factor in heating and maintenance costs. 3 beds is pleanty enough - people can stay in a hotel at my expense if nessacery, it is cheaper than buying (with mortgage) and maintaining a house with an extra couple of rooms just in case.

How many do you see driving around in 8 seat mini bus just in case they see someone they know who wants a lift?

Maybe we're coming out of the sheeple and into the lemmingeople stage?

She was on Radio 5 a few days ago talking about being a dog poo vigilante.
