Uk Bad Weather / Stocks

Recommended Posts

I have seen on the news that parts of UK are about to be flattened by storms & high winds.

Can anyone suggest which shares do well out of such adversity and which don't.

Buy construction companies and builders merchants, sell insurance companies. The former will gain lots of business from repair work, the latter will pay for it!!

I live on the south coast, opposite The Needles on The Isle of Wight, half a mile from the sea. It's blowy all right, but not nearly as strong as the forecast had predicted for now.

Peak winds aren't until 5.00am Monday morning, so there's plenty of time for it to pick up, but right now it feels like the BBC may have shaded the forecast up a touch so as not to be accused of under representing the risks.

It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out as you suggest.

But, I also hope this won't be your Michael Fish moment!
