Lamborghini Seized After Crackdown On Uninsured Cars Sold At Auction By Police For £218,000

Recommended Posts

A bright orange supercar worth about £300,000 has been sold by police after it was seized during a crackdown on uninsured cars.

The Lamborghini Aventador was initially stopped by officers in Newham, east London because it had no front number plate.

But further checks revealed the driver of the car - which does 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 217mph - was not the registered owner.

After the owner failed to come forward, the impressive vehicle was sold at auction for £218,000 by the Metropolitan Police.

Police chiefs will put the money into frontline policing.

Someone clearly has money to burn!

I'm guessing the owner is now playing for a European club.

Still if it really is "worth" £300K then the feds slipped up by selling it for 70% of that?
