Osborne Reveals The True Aim Of Help To Buy

Recommended Posts

Osborne is an idiot if he thinks that rising prices are a means of achieving reelection. It's an unbelievable risk to take with the economy. And he's the custodian of the taxpayers' interests in Parliament!

The silver lining to this is, such as it is, is that Conservative party membership and voters will surely continue to dwindle with little chance of replacement anongst younger types. That party needs an existential crisis imo, and they might get one post '15.

The more exposure I get to this HTB scheme, the more depressed I become- not only with politicians but the general public who will be fooled by this scheme.

Anyone under 35 who can, leave the country.

Is there anything in the appointment of MPs or Governments that says that they must work

for the benefit of the current peoples of this land , maybe in their Oath of Office (if there is such a thing?),

and ditto for (top) civil servants ?

I some times fantasize about a 'Hold Them to Account ' party which would pursue previous government people

for the shameless way they do stuff like this . I guess treason could be a possible charge ?

Maybe 'pour encourager les autres' ?

I can dream, but if only ...

At least voters (even tory) are waking up to the fact that this is all what political parties care about. It isn't only new Labour who enjoy throwing the economy under the bus to remain in power. It was always twas, it's just they can't be bothered to keep their masks on anymore.

It matters not which side of the supposed fence you sit on (Capitalist/Socialist) as no mainstream party represents either.

These people really don't live in the real world, do they..?

Nope ,they have lost the plot big time ,I see very few people who think HPI is a good thing now ,many were shouting from the roof tops half a dozen years ago but they can now see they are going to be stuck with that little tw@t jhony for a hell of a lot longer than they imagined when they were shouting from the roof tops

I think the penny is dropping.....parents and grandparents of the new generation are now starting to see that higher and higher home prices do not benefit them nor their children or their children's children.... ;)

Swearing in and the parliamentary oath

It details the wording of the oath(s) as well as some other stuff.

Same for some public servants and officials

Many grandparents are realising that this bubble is delaying the birth of their grandchildren. They may never meet their grandchildren. The grandchildren may never be born.

More importantly, they'll never get the kids to move out..

The Tories are only interested in re-election.

Who cares if they are building an ever bigger and more unsustainable bubble.

Their voters are the boomers.

Make them happy with some shite like HTB, where they can see the value of their houses go up just before they sell out.

It's disgusting.

Osborne reveals the true aim of Help to Buy: to inflate house prices

"Hopefully we will get a little housing boom and everyone will be happy as property values go up," the Chancellor reportedly told the cabinet.

Scumbag.

has he not figured out yet that the forthcoming election is going to be decided by "priced out" youngsters who cannot afford to start a family etc.

he's aiming at the wrong group.

failure to do the right thing now may very well end up with a "logan's run" scenario in a couple of years when the pissed off kids get their turn.

don't be stupid george/bungle/zippy...we really don't give a monkeys how much they are paying you....it's nowhere near te amount of payback that's going o get dished out.

(yes we know the aim of marxism was to exacerbate the divide between monopoly capitalist and serf..in order to provoke the counterpunch and utopian communist society where everybody owns everything(or should that be nobody owns anything?)...but you're doing such a good job of falling into the trap aren't you?)

pricks.

..that is the correct term....they seem to think we look up to them as "leaders"

...epic fail.

contempt is rather more accurate.

...oh the penny is finally dropping is it??????

there are many different types of warfare...not always using guns and bulets.

this is by far the most viscious....and for the most part stealty for those who do not see the real agenda.

financial "genocide" IS AN ACT OF WAR.

Any Tories going to defend Help To Buy out of interest?

Mind Labour strangely quiet about it. We know they would retain or bring in their own version.

Thats the 'LabourTory' way - give the illusion of democracy, with policies for sale to the highest bidders.

Can't see HTB winning any new votes and the next election will be fought on the margins of their potential voters

And as mentioned obove he has set his sights on the the wrong people

I remember at the beginning of this parliament, this forum was very pro conservative. They will let the housing bubble burst, blame it on Labour, let the free market sort it out. I even voted for this self interested shower. Never again. No better than the last lot.

Yes, we were taken in. Labour needed to go. Cameron made the right noises, I doubt anyone could have expected them to be so bad and so immoral. Won't get fooled again. But where to turn?

That was the sentiment that elected Labour in '97 after the Tories cash for questions etc.

Which suggests that the electorate are fickle and both parties are spent.

And which also gave you Brian Cox on TV

all equally bad.

A significant number of conservative voters are in fact desperately stupid liberals, who think that the Tories are the party of free-trade, despite the fact they spent several centuries doing everything they could to prevent it.
