No Affordable Housing

Recommended Posts

This headline just cracked me up;

No affordable homes included in the Greenacre Leisure site scheme.

About sums up the utterly stupid prices in Newbury. If none of the homes proposed are affordable who are they going to sell them to?

Newbury Weekly News.

Other articles such as the council illegally fining people for parking and then saying they didn't keep details of who they fined. And the bullshine about 20mph speed limits not being enforceable due to planning mistakes. Actually no 20mph speed limit is enforceable since parliament has not passed a law that the police can enforce.

I guess I shouldn't laugh at other people's misfortune but the council were pursuing a £35 debt from a guy who was in a coma dying. They called the hospital to harass him! I'm so glad I live a long way from Newbury.

Come buy our unaffordable food, our insanely priced gas, our extortionate Petrol, our over priced tat, our government supported houses. :blink:

I was reflecting on the irony of the '97 theme tune the other day.

Champagne all round my Guardian reading friends!

I was thinking of that song last night. I was when I caught the last bit of Prof. Brian Cox's science programme on BBC2. :D

Back on topic - Brits like to buy unaffordable homes. We do like to overpay for our stuff. :mellow:
