Nearest comparable I can find here is this for £58,500. Surely £190,000 is just a little steep?

What a mess! £60k of timber frame, insulation and fake bricks.

dkim106_brick-veneer-wall-install-row_s4x3_lg.jpg

The worst thing about all of this apart from the prprro FTB being suckered into a lifetime of debt is that if you google earth the area that are thousands of acres of farmland!

The value of the land sound be close to £10k, not £100k.

If greenfield development was allowed without all the NIMBY planing constraints you could easily build and sell properties like this for £100k and make a good profit.

It is sickening!

I love the way they cram 4 bedrooms into what would otherwise be a spacious 3 bedroom home.

I suppose they have to justify the price tag with a number of rooms. Quite credulous really, as if they would sell any more 4 bedroom cramped houses over 3 bedroom spacious with en-suite houses.

It's amazing what banning greenfield development can do to land values.

[edit]

Once upon a time Ireland had a strict planning system, you can see the old 3/4 story buildings crammed into old villages and towns. Then there was a trickle of new builds, creating 'wealth' in the construction industry. Brown envelopes lead to a flood of new developments like the ones above and at prices like those.
