Is Brown More Clever Than We Imagine?

Recommended Posts

I was browsing the news sites this afternoon and came across this on Reuters.

http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticl...IN-FINANCES.xml

I know that it has not payed off all the debt he has borrowed but is it a step in the right direction or a bit of double counting with two tablespoons of spin?

If only i looked a little bit further down the board, sorry :(

Given that most of us think that GB has the IQ of a turd this would not be difficult but:

The figures represent one months cash receipts and ignore the fact that for the other 11 months cash has flowed the other way so this report is meaningless.

What about selling our gold reserves at an average of $250 or below less than 5 years ago, that ranks right up there with raiding the pension funds, the guy is an unreconstituted idiot with a bit of luck on his side living in the reflective glory of the economy and the relative crappyness of his friends in the cabinet.

With hindsight Brown will rank right up there with Anthony Barber with his "dash for growth" for sheer short-termism with terrible longterm consequences and imbalances that will take decades to correct, if anything Brown is far worse than Barber, at least some of the money he wasted went into productive infrastructure that we still rely on today, whilst Brown has given us 'heritage wardens' and 'open space coordinators'.

He has fiddled the figures for his forthcoming pre-budget report by taking North Sea and windfall taxes off the oil companies in advance, so this year he has effectively rolled two years into one, pro-forma for next year and arreas for this year, the problem is you can only do this once, in the same way you can only reclassify a bloke sweeping a road as "capital investment" on infrastructure rather than maintainece once.

GB may be a con artist, politically ambitious, disingenuous etc, but having a low IQ is certainly something you can't accuse him of.

Disregarding all post-war experience of economics and implementing failed Keynesian policies is pretty dim, at the very least it's dogmatic.

Thats why he will for ever be known as 'Crash' Gordon post HP crash...... part of the dynamic duo of Mr Boom and Mr Bust

What a legacy!

Certainly put the Poll Tax (AKA Council Tax) into perspective when they are gone....

Don't ever underestimate Gordon.

A remark by Kenneth Clarke a couple of days ago on a TV programme where he sat next to Diane Abbott. Interestingly, the two of them agreed on most issues.

having seen some scribbled notes from a meeting he attended i collected them out of the bin. they were simply sketches and doodles he scrawled between speaking.

now would YOU trust a man who draws cars, then places large 'L's as interior seats.? or doesnt sit the wheels into arches. his planes all had vertical wings which would have made the plane impossible to land. and since when did planes have little flags on the tail fin with green crayon swastikas on them.

no. were only a tiny insignificant island who since not being able to find a meal in the world, choose to eat its own young instead.
