Best Country For Interest Rates?

Anyway care to try this experiment? Send your money to a bank in Pakistan for 7% interest. If you get it back we can follow suit....

Obviously you would have to fly to Pakistan open an account then come back with your head intact, High leverage required!

Do already, they're both actually pretty safe banks, just as safe as any British one.

Do they have depositor protection schemes, or will the savings just be bailed in when the SHTF?

not sure but think there is a protection scheme, I know HBL is majority owned by one of the Aga Khan's companies so he'll be bailing us out!

That's not really your biggest risk. FX exposure is much more of a problem.
