British Gas Plans To Offer Free Power On Saturdays

Recommended Posts

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23526389

British Gas has said it is planning to offer free power on Saturdays to some of its customers.

The idea is to encourage them to use more of their electricity at the weekend when there is less demand from businesses, according to the BBC's industry correspondent John Moylan .

The scheme would be available to its one million UK customers who have smart meters.

British Gas is understood to have already started piloting the scheme.

So you just need to do everything on Saturday....

I could envisage superheating my house on Sunday evening via electric heaters...

Good news for football clubs....

Get a REALLY big UPS system.

Build a hydrogen generation plant with a fuel cell stack.

Build a small Fischer-Tropp reactor to create your own petrol.

Reinforce your hot water tank. Heat it to the 'supercritical steam' phase (warning: trying to run a bath may par-boil the inhabitants of the house).

Build a 2km high water tower in your back garden. Use it for pumped-hydro storage.

Use Saturdays' electricity to ignite the Fusion Reactor in the shed for the rest of the week.

What a complete load of crap, the national grid would collapse in on itself and battery prices would go through the roof if this happened.

Yes, more likely the offer is to encourage more people to have smart meters installed.
